Today, the first quarter-final matches in the Europa League and the Conference League are scheduled. There are some great matches, and tough battles are expected. The odds and limits applied at the time of writing the suggestions.
Olympiakos – Fenerbahce – X2 @ 1.47 at betBonanza
There’s a lot at stake in this match, even though it’s the Conference League, the weakest of the three European cups. The rivalry between Greek and Turkish clubs is well-known, especially when it involves the best teams from these countries. Olympiacos is trying to reclaim the title of champion in Greece, currently in fourth place but only 4 points behind the leader PAOK. AEK and Panathinaikos are also in the mix, and the Greek Super League is the only European league where four teams have nearly equal chances of becoming champions. Fenerbahçe has only one competitor for the trophy in Turkey, their fiercest rival Galatasaray, and their attempt to play the Super Cup last Sunday failed once again. Fenerbahçe fielded a youth team and left the field after two minutes. In the knockout phase of the Conference League, the Istanbul team eliminated Belgian Royal Union, with all the work done in the first match in Brussels, which they won 3-0. The Belgians responded in the return leg but only managed a minimal victory. Olympiacos played two rounds of the knockout phase, first prevailing over Ferencváros, beating them twice with a score of 1-0, and then the Israeli team Maccabi. They lost the first match against the Tel Aviv team at their Karaiskakis home 4-1 but won with the same score in the return leg on neutral ground in Bačka Topola. After extra time, the final score was 6-1 for the Piraeus team. Fenerbahçe has an experienced team with Dzeko, Tadic, and others, and we believe they will not lose in Athens.
For the Double Chance X2, the odds are 1.47 at betBonanza.
Viktoria Plzen – Fiorentina – Total UNDER 2.5 @ 1.80 at betBonanza
Considering they cannot claim the championship title in the Czech Republic again, the footballers of Viktoria are putting all their efforts into the Conference League. They reached the quarterfinals with dominant play in their group, achieving all five victories, but they also had some luck in the draw and in matches against Servette. Both games against them ended goalless and only after penalties did the team from Plzen advance. In the domestic cup, they are in the semifinals, presenting another opportunity to win a trophy. A similar situation is with Viola. The team from Florence, after a series of good results, recently lost many points in Serie A and dropped to 10th place following Sunday’s defeat to Juventus. However, Fiorentina has made it to the final of the Coppa Italia, where they will have a chance to avenge that defeat to Juventus and in doing so, not only secure a place in Europe but also win a trophy after a long time, precisely ten years, since they lost to Inter in last spring’s final. Viola was better than Maccabi Haifa in the round of 16, winning as visitors, albeit on a neutral field, and later a 1:1 draw at Artemio Franchi was enough. We expect this duel to be decided in the return leg, and for the first match, we suggest a bet on a low number of goals.
For Total UNDER 2.5 Goals, the odds at betBonanza are 1.80.
Benfica – Marseille – Benfica to Win @ 1.85 at betBonanza
Olympique Marseille is heading to Lisbon at a rather unfortunate time. Not only are they on a losing streak in domestic competitions, but Benfica also has to make amends with their fans after being unsuccessful twice in matches against their city rival Sporting. The Eagles played in the Champions League but had to move to the lesser competition, the Europa League, after finishing third in their group with Inter and Real Sociedad. They clinched that third spot at the last minute, scoring a second goal in added time against Salzburg, leaving the Bulls without a knockout phase. In the playoff for the round of 16, they were better than Toulouse, and in the next round, they eliminated Rangers, managing a 2:2 draw in Lisbon and winning by a minimal score in Glasgow. Marseille has suffered three consecutive defeats in Ligue 1, and together with the loss in the return leg against Villarreal, that’s a total of four setbacks. This has not happened to the team from the famous port city in a long time, making the Europa League their only chance to achieve something more, and winning the trophy would lead them to the Champions League.
Our suggestion, at least for the first match, is Benfica to Win, and for this, the odds at betBonanza are 1.85.
Aston Villa – Lille – Both teams to score and Total OVER 2.5 @ 2.07 at betBonanza
Aston Villa is playing a “historical” match every three or four days. In the Premier League, the team from Birmingham was on the verge of qualifying for the Champions League but then lost at home to direct competitor Tottenham. After a 3:3 draw with Brentford on Saturday, the chances are now in favor of the Spurs, but Unai Emery’s team is not giving up. Even a two-goal lead against the Bees wasn’t enough, and they barely managed to salvage a point, remaining in the race with the London team. In the Conference League, they have been performing well and, as expected, made it to the quarterfinals. In the round of 16, they thrashed Ajax at their Villa Park and are considered by many as one of the favorites to win the trophy. However, even if they win this competition, they will only play in the Europa League unless they secure a Champions League spot through the league. This should mean that the league is their priority. They are slight favorites against Lille, even though the team from northern France has more recent experience in Europe. The Bulldogs are in excellent form, with no losses in their last eight matches, including two games against Sturm in the round of 16 of the Conference League. Expect an open clash with plenty of goals.
For Both teams to score and Total OVER 2.5, the odds are 2.07 at betBonanza.
